Upfront Membership FAQ's:

What are the prices for your Upfront Memberships?
We offer Student, UNSW Staff, College and Adult upfront memberships. Our friendly staff will be happy to provide you with the correct price for the membership you require. Click here to view current fees and charges.

What is included in my Upfront Membership?
Unlimited access to all Fitness & Aquatic areas:

  • Use of all gym equipment
  • FREE Member Induction (60 minutes with a personal trainer for a tour of the facility and use of equipment)
  • Group Fitness Classes: including small group training sessions
  •  Indoor Cycling Classes
  • Aqua Aerobic Classes
  • Indoor heated pool
  • Steam Room
  • Lockers
  • Changing Rooms
     

How can I book into classes?

Easy, please use our Kiosk located next to reception, otherwise you can book in up to a week in advance at reception or over the phone. Be sure to pick up your booking receipt from reception for entry into the class. 

Is the timetable for classes on your website?

What will i be doing in my Group Fitness or Small Group Fitness Class?
If you're new to Group Fitness or not quite sure what to expect, check out our Class Descriptions and the level of fitness required for each of the classes.  

How can I change my contact details?
All you need to do is fill out an amendment form in the Centre.

Can I suspend my membership?
Suspensions are available for 12 month upfront memberships only. All you need to do is fill out an amendment form in the Centre and give14 days’ written notice. 

I’m on an upfront 12 Month Membership- How long can I suspend for?
You can suspend your membership for up to 8 weeks a year.

Can I get a refund if I’m not using my membership?
Sorry, we do not do refunds on upfront memberships. 

Can I transfer my membership to a friend or family member?
Sorry, we do not do transfers on any of our memberships.

Is there a more flexible membership?
Absolutely. Our Direct Debit memberships are not locked in. You can suspend for up to 8 weeks a year and cancel at any time. All you need to do is fill out an amendment form in the Centre and give 14 days’ written notice for any suspension or cancellation.

Am I locked in to a contract?
No! There are no contracts on our Direct Debit memberships!

When are the Direct Debits taken?
All debits are withdrawn every 2nd Friday from your nominated credit/debit card or bank account. 

What name will appear on my account for my UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre direct debits? 
UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre is now proudly managed by the YMCA. The name that will appear on your account each fortnight when you are debited is “YMCA of Sydney”.  

 What happens if my Direct Debit (DD) bounces?
No problem. We will notify you if there are any problems on your account. Please note that a $5.00 fee occurs for any rejected DD. 

How can I change my contact or direct debit details?
All you need to do is fill out an amendment form in the Centre and give 14 days’ written notice for changes to direct debit details.

Can I suspend my membership?
Of course you can! All you need to do is fill out an amendment form in the Centre and give 14 days’ written notice. 

How long can I suspend for?
You can suspend your membership for up to 8 weeks a year.

Can I cancel at any time?
Of course you can! All you need to do is fill out an amendment form in the Centre and give14 days’ written notice. Your last debit will be a full payment.

Can I transfer my membership to a friend or family member?
