    With so many group fitness options to choose from at the Y, there’s sure to be a class that’s right for you. Whether you choose aerobics, boxing, circuits or something else, you’ll find there’s nothing better than group fitness for motivation, encouragement, networking and making new friends.

    BODY ATTACK: BODYATTACK™ is the sports-inspired cardio workout that builds your strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises to help you achieve your fitness goals.

    BODY BALANCE: BODYBALANCE™ is the holistic yoga, tai chi, Pilates workout that builds your flexibility and strength, and leaves you feeling centred and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a structured series of moves help you achieve a state of harmony and balance.

    BODY PUMP: Sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body fast with the original barbell workout. Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you’ll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning, encouraged all the way by your friendly instructor and class-mates

    YMCA BOX & BURN: If you’ve ever wanted to try a boxing-style workout, this program provides a lively introduction. It’s a basic boxing and cardio circuit class that’s easy to follow and sociable, too. Best of all, at just 30-minutes long, even busy people can make time for it.

    BRAZILIAN BODY WORKOUT: Come sculpt your body to the rhythms of Brazilian music. This class will include body weight excercises, high intensity cardio and strength training focusing on bum, thighs and abdominals. 

    YMCA FATBURNER: A high intensity circuit based workout with the emphasis on endurance based activities. This allows the body to burn fat for fuel. This class is designed for fun and fitness and is suitable for all ages and abilities

    PILATES: Whether you’re new to exercise or an experienced athlete, the friendly Pilates class at the Y is the place to improve muscular strength, core stability, posture and flexibility. Pilates works the body as a single unit, focusing on alignment and positioning to lengthen and strengthen the deeper trunk muscle.

    RPM: RPM™ is the friendly indoor cycling workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music. Take on the terrain with your inspiring coach who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials and interval training. Discover the athlete within; sweat and burn to reach your endorphin high.

    YMCA STEP AND TONE:
     A workout designed to increase tone and muscular endurance for the whole body. Increases core stability. Atep adds an extra element for the heart and lungs as well as toning the legs.

    Tai Chi (Beginner): Make new connections while enhancing your physical and mental wellbeing. This class uses tai chi’s slow, controlled movements to increase flexibility, strength, fitness and body awareness. It’s also an excellent form of meditation. 

    YOGA: A seguence of postures designed to increase concentration, endurance, strength and flexibility, leaving you relaxed, and completly revitalised. 

    ZUMBA: Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba® program is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that’s moving millions of people towards joy and health

    BOXING: Before you join a class, learn simple boxning techniques- jab, hook and upper cut with the support of a fitness coach.

    CARDIO TRAINING: This program incorporates the best of cardio training and bodyweight resistance exercises. The class is a great way to improve coordination, and as part of an enthusiastic and friendly group, you’ll be motivated and supported all the way.

    CIRCUIT: A combination of high intensity areobic and resistance training. Constantly varied excerises will add fun to your fitness regeim.

    CROSS CIRCUIT: A combination of interval training building endurance and resistance using Octane Elliptical and weights. 

    CORE TRAINING: Short, sharp and intense, this half-hour workout focuses on getting your core in shape. A variety of exercises and challenges keep it interesting as you develop all areas of your abdominals and strengthen your lower back.

    KETTLEBELL: Given that the kettlebell has been used for centuries, you can be confident that this workout is worth the effort. The rounded weights, held securely by handles, are highly effective in toning and developing muscles, and the Y’s group fitness environment is both supportive and friendly.

    YMCA TEEN GYM (12+) Ultising the full extent of the gym, this program provides fitness goals and activities specifically tailored for teenagers.

    TRX: State of the art functional fitness training; our TRX Circuit classes will push you to your limits whilst delivering total body, fat blasting results.

    Note: All BoneFit classes run in 8 week cycles and must be booked pior to attending.

    BoneFit is a specifically designed program to develop muscle strength and improve bone density run by exercise physiologists. Participants will workout on user friendly weight machines, set at their own weight, according to their strength and fitness level.
    PrYme Active improves fitness, stamina and strength with low impact aerobics, strengthening exercises using hand weights and stretching.
    PrYme Strength improves strength by using your body weight, small hand held weights and resistance bands. This class also includes a balance and stretching component.
    Body Balance combines Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates to build flexibility and strength. Leaves you feeling calm and centred.
    Pilates teaches a unique method of body control and conditioning,focusing on alignment and positioning while encouraging the deeper trunk muscles to strengthen.
